A Survey of SRS Outcomes After Short Real-Life Experiences

By Anne Lawrence, M.D., Ph.D.

In 1997, and again in 2001, I gave presentations at the HBIGDA Biennial Symposium, based on surveys of satisfaction in persons who underwent SRS after less than one full year of real-life experience (RLE) in female role. I would like to continue this research.

If you underwent SRS without first living full-time in female role for one full year, please consider participating. Simply contact me by email to request a survey form. I will email the questionnaire to you. Depending on my schedule, this could sometimes take a week or longer.

There are a few additional conditions for participating. First, you must have had SRS after 1979, the year the HBIGDA Standards of Care were implemented. Second, you must have been postoperature for at least one year. Third, you must have lived full-time in female role for less than ten months continuously prior to having SRS: It makes sense to limit the study to participants who had significantly less than one year of RLE.

Thank you for your consideration.
