Dr. Chettawut Tulayaphanich, May 2002

These photos were kindly provided by Dr. Chettawut;
as such, they may represent an especially favorable result. The photos were
taken only one month after surgery, and there is probably still some
postoperative swelling present. This may be one reason that the clitoris appears
rather prominent. We can clearly see the suture lines resulting from creation
of the labia majora. Dr. Chettawut reports that this patient’s vaginal depth was
5 in. (12.5 cm).

With the labia spread, we can better appreciate
the position of the urethral meatus, which is a bit higher than I prefer. It
appears that a strip of urethral mucosa has been extended upward from the
urethral meatus to the base of the clitoris. Many consumers will regard the
resulting shiny pink appearance as desirable. I’m more ambivalent, having seen
many cases of mucosal inflammation when this technique is used. Overall, this is
another very good result from Dr. Chettawut.
