These photos were taken about 8 weeks after
surgery and were kindly sent to me by the patient. She wrote, "Mr. Thomas works
in tandem with Mr. James Bellringer to provide surgery at Charing Cross Hospital
in London. Both were trained by the now retired Mr. Michael Royle and both use
similar techniques."
With the labia slightly spread, we can see the
position of the clitoris, but the urethral meatus is not visible. The patient
wrote, "I have good sensation in my whole vulva and my clitoris is sensate. I
haven't achieved orgasm yet, but I'm certain it will be possible. I have about 6
inches (15 cm) of depth, using a 30 mm dilator, and my urine stream is steady
and directional. Healing has been very good and I have had no complications. The
only minor thing is some loose skin at the vaginal entrance, which may tighten
up as healing continues. It does not really pose a problem for me. Overall, I am
very happy with my result."
